Chapati Tray XIV

  • Our Vintage Chapati Tray has been handcrafted by artisans in Southern India. Made of wood, its original use was to make and serve chapati, an unleavened flatbread made of whole wheat that is a popular staple of Indian cuisine.

The tray has been treated with a washed, natural wood finish. Its patina, consistent with age and wear, makes for an organic and natural sculptural piece with unique character.

Style yours on the coffee table, entry table, or in the bedroom with a small plant, candle, or stack of books. Used as a catch-all tray, this unique piece will look collected and stylish in any space.

  • The tray is approximately 18.5" L x 16" W x 2" H. Made of wood. Not intended for use with food.

Each Chapati Tray has been individually crafted by hand and no two are exactly alike. Due to the age of each piece, there may be small marks, scratches and some variation in color that are consistent with the plate’s age and original use. These markings add to the item’s patina, and tell a story of its unique history and significance. Please Contact Us if you have any specific needs or questions.

  • Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Dry completely. Avoid harsh cleaners or chemicals. Please handle with care.
