Our pretty hand towels are handwoven on a pedal loom by a master weaver in Istanbul, Turkey in a Fair Trade environment. Using techniques that have been passed down through many generations, each one is made in the great tradition of Turkish towels.
Known as Peshtemals, Turkish towels are world famous for their durable and soft texture that is lightweight yet super absorbent. Our collection’s contemporary colors and finished hems are a fresh take on the traditional hammam towel.
In ancient times before every home had a private bathroom, communities would revolve around a traditional bathhouse. People would gather there to socialize and clean themselves. Since these buildings were very humid, the towels used there needed to be lightweight and quick drying. While the hammam towel has outlived the tradition of shared public bathhouses, its use has expanded to be the perfect companion for powder rooms and en-suite bathrooms everywhere.
Each hand towel is made from a 50% cotton / 50% linen blend. It is approximately 17” x 28” unfolded, plus a 2” fringe. Handmade in Turkey.
Machine wash in cold water. Delicate cycle recommended. Tumble dry low or line dry. These towels will get softer with every wash.

This set of four pretty cocktail napkins have been handwoven in India using the finest imported Belgian flax. Our pure linen napkins feature an eyelash fringe on their side edges, and they have been stone washed to soft perfection, creating added texture and character.
Our Fair Trade artisan partner employs a full-time team of over 85 artisans in Kerala and New Delhi, India to create this line of cocktail napkins. The craftspeople receive on-site training and above-average wages, free lunch and access to interest-free loans.
