Our Hmong Striped Pillow features a handmade textile from the Hmong people of Northern Thailand.
The Hmong are an ethnic hill tribe minority group from several regions of Asia, including China, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand. Traditionally, Hmong textiles are created entirely by hand by the women of the community. Group identity and affiliation dictated designs, textile foundations and colors. These textiles were mostly used for practical purposes, such as functional baby wraps.
Our Hmong Striped Pillow Collection is handspun and hand-loomed by skilled artisans. Each piece has a specific history to tell about cultural heritage and the artisan handmade process. Our pillows are a luxurious addition to your home, steeped in tradition and craftsmanship.
This pillow is 12” x 20” and comes stuffed with a removable down/feather insert enclosed by a brass zipper. The back side of the pillow features 100% Belgian linen sourced from a sustainable mill and our signature Meridian tag.
Our Hmong Striped Pillow contains an authentic and high quality piece of a textile from Thailand. Due to its entirely handmade creation process, no two pillows are exactly the same. Minor imperfections may be visible that speak to the handmade process and tell the story of its creator.
All of our textiles are handcrafted using the finest natural materials. To prevent loosening the shape or weave of the vintage cloth, we recommend dry cleaning our pillow covers.
