Jaipur Wooden Elephants

Finish
  • Our Jaipur Wooden Elephants are handmade in Rajasthan, India. Each one features hand painted details in distressed, worn colors reminiscent of the finely costumed and painted pachyderms of Jaipur.

For centuries, India has had a long history with elephants. Traditionally a vehicle for Kings to appear before their subjects, these giant creatures now spend most of their days near the Amber Fort, a historic and opulent palace located high on a hill above the Pink City. Each year elephants are celebrated at the annual Holi Festival, where the animals are lavishly embellished in vibrant colors, textiles and jewelry.

Most commonly found in the form of the Hindu deity Ganesh, elephant symbols can be found all over Indian architecture, art and culture. They are widely celebrated across many facets of life.

We love that each elephant tells a story of its heritage in Rajasthani culture. They make a colorful addition to any shelf, whether in your living room, library, office or nursery.

  • Each elephant is approximately 8.5"H x 10"L x 3"W. Made of wood.

These wooden figures have been individually crafted by hand and no two are exactly alike. Designs and stylized distress may differ slightly from piece to piece. Please Contact Us if you have any specific needs or questions.

  • Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Dry completely. Avoid harsh cleaners or chemicals. Please handle with care.
