Vintage Block Print Textile Stamp III

  • Our Vintage Block Print Textile Stamp has been hand-carved by artisans in Rajathan, India. Referred to as the “block” by the master craftspeople who carve them, trained artisans use a small chisel and drill to carve each design into the wood.

To print the textile, blocks are dipped in natural dyes and pressed down onto a long strip of cotton cloth. Traditional block print designs are often complex, and blocks frequently hold just a fragment of the overall final pattern. It can take several steps, printing in layers, to reach a final composition. The art of block printing requires an incredibly steady hand and precise, repetitive movements to execute a master-level design.

The complex carving of each design element creates a beautiful focal point in your room. Use a Vintage Block Print Textile Stamp as one-of-a-kind conversation piece on your bookshelf or coffee table.
