This handcrafted, one-of-a-kind Christmas stocking features indigo and mudcloth textiles from West Africa. Artisans in Burkina Faso hand dye, spin and weave cotton panels to create the indigo textile that has been prized for centuries for its vibrant, deep hue. Mudcloth, on the other hand, is traditionally made by the Bamana people of Mali using materials and dyes locally sourced in the region.
Each textile is made entirely by hand in a multi-step process that is passed down through generations with a decades long training period. These textiles have a specific story to tell about cultural heritage and the artisan handmade process. Our generously sized stockings feature a full interior lining and a velvet ribbon loop for hanging. We think Santa will appreciate their one-of-a-kind nature. Be sure to tell him to deliver something special this year!
This stocking is approximately 17” tall x 12” wide at the boot and 8.5” wide at the cuff. It is fully lined on the inside and the back is covered in a creamy white European linen. A velvet loop is affixed at the top for hanging.
Our holiday stocking collection contains authentic and high quality pieces of textiles from Burkina Faso, Mali, and the Cote d’Ivoire. Each stocking is one-of-a-kind. Due to its entirely handmade creation process, no two stockings are exactly the same. Minor imperfections such as mending and color variation may be visible that add to the character and patina of the piece.
All of our textiles are handcrafted using the finest natural materials. We recommend a light vacuum or warm iron for general upkeep. Please avoid direct or prolonged sunlight exposure. To treat any stains, blot any liquids immediately. Professional dry cleaning recommended.

Our Blue and White Porcelain Pot is handmade by a third-generation artisan family from the “Porcelain Capital” of China, where pottery has been produced for 1,700 years. Each step of the pot making process is done by hand, from sourcing and preparing the clay, to painting, and finally glazing each pot. While our pot is new, it has been painted in the antique style of traditional Chinese porcelain.
The first step in making a pot is to mix the clay by hand and foot. The creator stomps and molds the clay on a large mound until it is tender and ready. The clay is then shaped into the pot’s desired size. It is left to naturally air dry, which takes several weeks depending on the weather. After the pot has dried, our master artisans paint the desired outline with cobalt, then fill the pattern with natural colors. The pot is then fired in a high temperature kiln. The result is the finest quality porcelain that is completely handmade.
Our Double Happiness pot is decorated with the Chinese symbol for joy. Often the character is associated with the Lunar New Year celebrations and is also the symbol found all over the wedding ceremony, as well as on gifts for the bride and groom.
This pot measures 5.5” in diameter and 4.5” deep. Made of locally sourced clay.
Each pot has been individually crafted by hand and no two are exactly alike. Please Contact Us if you have any specific needs or questions.
Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners or chemicals. Please handle with care.

Our strands of decorative, recycled glass beads are handmade by a fair trade cooperative of women artisans in Ghana whose entire process harnesses locally sourced and recycled materials. The rich history of beads in the region dates back to the ancient times when they were used as the King’s currency. Today, they are a vital part of the artisan economy.
To create each bead, the artisans use a rock to break apart glass bottles and grind them into a powder. The powder is then placed in clay molds and fired. Once the glass has melted into a liquid, they use a cassava leaf stem to poke a hole through the bead. The beads form as they cool before being polished with sand and water.
The colors chosen for each bead invoke specific meanings embedded by their creators; depending on the shade, beads can represent wealth, fertility, and purity. Strung together on a large strand, they are a unique and beautiful representation of a traditional Ghanian craft.
Our recycled glass bead strands are a colorful addition to any coffee table, bookshelf or bar cart. Every purchase directly supports our fair trade and environmentally friendly artisan cooperative in Ghana.
Our bead strand is approximately 11” long. Each handmade bead is about 1” in diameter and the strand contains anywhere from 31 to 37 individual beads. For decorative use only.
Each bead is handcrafted individually and slight variations in color, finish, size and shape may occur. Small amounts of wear and tear may be visible. These distinctions speak to the handmade process and tell the story of the artisan whose hands shaped it.
