Our found, Vintage Samosa Mould has been handcrafted by artisans in Northern India. Made of wood, its original use was to press and shape a samosa, a fried or baked pastry filled with spiced potatoes, onions, peas, lentils, and sometimes meat.
Samosas are a popular staple across cuisines of the Indian subcontinent as well as Central and South Asia, with reaches as wide as Africa, the Mediterranean and the Middle East. In India, samosas are often accompanied by a green chutney made from mint, coriander or tamarind.
Our hand carved Samosa Moulds are a unique way to store and hold jewelry on a bedside table or dresser, or to contain small items on your coffee table or in the entryway. Layer a few for a collected look and to create a conversation piece.
Each mould varies in size and shape by as much as 1.5". They are finished in natural wood tones with much variety. They are approximately 4"L x 2.5"W x 1.5"H. Not intended for use with food.
Each Vintage Samosa Mould has been individually crafted by hand and no two are exactly alike. Due to the age of each piece, there may be small marks, cracks, scratches and some variation in color that are consistent with its age and original use.
